Biography
I am a shareholder with Bogin, Munns & Munns, P.A., and was the founding attorney of the firm’s Gainesville office in 2007. I have been in practice since 2001. During that time I have handled a variety of matters for public and private clients involving contract disputes, business buy-outs and dissolution, commercial and residential evictions and foreclosures, eminent domain, code enforcement, insurance claims, estate planning and probate. I am regularly retained by national title insurance companies and individuals to resolve real estate disputes including mortgage priority, removal of liens, correcting deed errors, boundary disputes, easement disputes, adverse possession claims and fraud. Before relocating to Florida to live near extended family, I was an associate with one of the largest law firms based in California.
My interest in law was sparked by an attorney who was a mentor of mine while in High School. Based on my personality, I was always destined to be in the service industry in one form or another. Since I love to help people and am a problem solver, the law was a natural fit. I enjoy helping relieve the stress and concern people have as they come to me with their legal problems.
My greatest strength as an attorney is my ability to ask good questions and a lot of them. I am not afraid to think outside the box to obtain solutions that best fit my client’s needs. I work my tail off for my clients and approach each case in light of its unique circumstances.
If I had to choose another profession (and if money were not an issue), I would be a side kick to Rick Steves or Anthony Bourdain and travel the world. In reality, I likely would have gone into business or real estate. Many people are not aware, but I love the theatre. After a 20 year sabbatical, I finally got back on the stage in December 2015, directing and acting in an over 100 person cast. I have been married since 1995 and have four children. I am scuba certified and enjoy spearfishing with my son and friends.
In addition to work and family life, I am also very active in my church and have served in various leadership and teaching assignments. I have been the Bishop of the Gainesville 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 2008, am active in my son’s Boy Scout troop, sit on the Board of Directors for the Gainesville Civic Chorus, volunteer with the ProConsultant program through the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneurship Center, and I am a graduate of Leadership Gainesville Class 37 (2011). I have also been featured in the magazine Home: Living in the Heart of Florida.
